Touch The Forest
Date / 2021

This project explores textures found in the forest. Surfaces such as moss, tree bark, and lichen-covered stone were translated into textiles.
The research combined multimedia experimentation with an exploration of texture-generating possibilities within weave bindings and patterns. The process began with the creation of a video designed to evoke the sensation of being in the forest and touching its natural surfaces. Sound played a complementary role, reinforcing the tactile impression.
In response to the video, three textile objects were developed.

Lichen

Tree fungus

Birch
