Soft or Not

Soft or Not is an experimental series of five textiles investigating fundamental tactile contrasts identified in neuropsychology and cognitive science: smooth–rough and soft–hard. The project examines how variations in weave, scale, and material influence the intensity of sensory perception.
 
Through systematic exploration, it reveals the relationship between weaving techniques and tactile experience, offering insight into the construction of texture. Each textile represents a gradual shift in surface quality, reinforced by a corresponding colour gradient.
